Well I just did a round of logo design for the Phoebe A. Reeves Logan Foundation. It focuses on literacy in Liberia. Liberia has been devastated by a civil war lasting around 10 years.
With this design I started out looking at books and other graphics to incorporate but instead I went a very clean route. Helvetica is my friend as always even though some people hate when I use skinny fonts (inside joke).
I’m really excited about working on this project and not because Mrs. Logan happens to be my grandmother. My parents tell all my friends about how I started reading at three and I think my interest in reading was helpful in many ways. I began reading business books shortly after undergrad and in just the past couple weeks I’ve been devouring other topics from biographies to poetry to healthy eating — and it’s like my passion for reading is re-ignited. I still read The Economist. I’m still finishing Web Analytics 2.0 too. But I’m burning through some Bell Hooks and Cornel West too. Oooh I should write a post about those.
Unfortunately I’m delirious. Up waaaay too late on a day when I promised myself sleep. Darn you internet. Darn you kindle on my pc, kindle, and laptop. Darn you netflix. I could be sleeping but instead I’m torn between all my cool documentaries, books, and web projects.
Sigh… my life is great.
