Mac or PC for Me?

pc_mac

Yes. To quote my big, somewhat confrontational sticker… “I’m a PC“. I have been a PC for a long time but friends are making me wonder whether or not I should jump ship, or at least have both in my computing arsenal. Since I have a brand new Lenovo laptop I cannot rationalize getting another beast computer untiiiiil I sell that laptop. But since the new Lenovo absolutely choked on Adobe Premiere, I’m not sure whether it makes sense to keep it.

In my quest to research Apple products I have gotten a iPod Touch.  I didn’t purchase it.  That would be high treachery (treason sounds trite).  My brother Welton gave it to me and well… it was a gift.  I’ve downloaded all kinds of apps, more than are available with my BlackBerry.  sigh.  In all fairness I do have what I need on the Blackberry.  Twitter, Pandora, Sudoku and even Facebook so my needs are met but he pushed me to try it saying that if I was really into digital, I would check it out.

I’ll only admit this once.  He was right.

So, should I add Apple to my arsenal?  We’ll see.  :)

NO! Do not add Apple to your arsenal unless you want to deplete yoour resources, lower your IQ and become one of the Apple Lemmings.

Don't you remember the history? Apple claims "the risc processor is better than any Intel chip could ever dream of being" Are Macs running on RISC processors today? Ummmm NO! Intel!

Wait Wait! Apple says! Um we have re-written our software to be better than Windows and can run faster on an Intel based system! Ummmmm no! Sorry wrong again.

After Microsoft bailed out Apple so they would not fade away and make Microsoft a Monopoly, they have re-focused thier strategy. Now they make fun little toys. iPod iPad iPhone iLemming.

Madia, please do not become a iLemming.

By the way, try Sony Vegas as a video editing package.
  • Hey dear! Love that you have a blog, and thank you for inviting comments on one of my favorite subjects. I've got an iMac, a Mac laptop, a PC, a PC laptop and a Blackberry, and I'm contemplating whether to add either an iPhone or a Droid. Why do I have so many tools? There is so much to love about the Mac, starting with the great customer service and ending with the way it handles photographs, video and graphics, and a whole lot in between. But PC has done a much better job connecting with the outside universe--for example, a Droid can be tethered to a laptop for connectivity, but an iPhone cannot. My solution? Own both.

Hey Hey Elizabeth! Long time no talk. I'm a tech junkie too. I currently own two laptops, have two other laptops for work, a kindle, iPod touch, Zune, Zune HD, and I'm sure I could go on and on. Not to mention my Flip camera which I love.

I think multiple devices are great but it would be nice to have the whole shebang in just a few or better yet one device. Maybe one portable, and one ultra portable - like the best laptop and cell phone ever made. :)

I'm a convert going on 3 years or so. Certainly pros and cons to the move but for me it has definitely been the right choice.

UX and battery life have been major pluses. I've had the bezel break off around the keyboard and monitor, both were replaced at no cost to me.

hmm... yeah battery life and user experience is important. I wish I could borrow one for two weeks. I'm worried about whether or not the investment of time to learn the mac is worth it. I hear I can run Windows on it though...
